Douby on a roll as Bulls gore Sharks

A POOR defensive display sent the Shanghai Sharks to another loss in the Chinese Basketball Association last night as they slumped 112-126 away to the Zhejiang Golden Bulls despite the return of skipper Liu Wei.
Guard Quincy Douby notched a game-high 41 points and six rebounds as Zhejiang pulled away in the third quarter in Yiwu, better known for its commodities market.
Shanghai was led by its two Americans, with Gilbert Arenas and D.J. White contributing 27 points and nine rebounds each. Liu, who missed two games due to fever, added 17 points and four assists.
Shanghai center Zhang Zhaoxu was absent last night, leaving the team vulnerable on defense. Douby was on fire in the third quarter as the Bulls built a 20-point lead and stayed ahead for good.
Douby has been phenomenal this season, scoring an astonishing 75 points against the Shanxi Brave Dragons on January 2 to set a CBA scoring record.
The Sharks, meanwhile, also lost the corresponding home fixture against the Bulls 94-97 in December.
Shanghai slipped to 16th in the 17-team league with Zhejiang seventh. Its next clash is with the Dongguan Leopards at home tomorrow.
Arenas has put up 888 tickets of the game on weibo.com. Fans can just click on the link he has created on the Grand General's latest post to apply for the free tickets. The names of the 888 lucky fans will be released at 2pm today.
By 6pm yesterday, nearly 1,800 fans had applied for the tickets. "First come, first serve," said the former NBA All-Star guard, in response to fans who still seem to be having patience with the team.
Elsewhere last night, the CBA defending champions Beijing Ducks beat the Shanxi Brave Dragons 137-108 for a second straight victory. Beijing's Stephon Marbury had a game-high 36 points. But the Bayi Rockets lost 107-116 to the Dongguan Leopards on their home court.
