Garnett Gets One-Game Suspension For Richardson Elbow
BOSTON Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended for the second game of his team's first-round playoff series with the Miami Heat for his role in a heated confrontation between the two sides, the National Basketball Association said on Sunday.
Garnett elbowed Quentin Richardson in the face during the fourth quarter of Game 1, when the Heat guard approached Boston forward Paul Pierce, who was laying injured on the court.
The exchange set off some minor pushing between the teams. Richardson was fined US$25,000 for the incident.
The Celtics lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 after an 85-76 victory on Saturday.
