Heat sizzle, burn Spurs

The first meeting between San Antonio and Miami since the Heat’s triumph in last season’s National Basketball Association finals went all Miami’s way on Sunday.

Chris Bosh scored 24 points and LeBron James added 18 as the hosts dominated the Spurs 113-101.

The Heat shot an impressive 58.1 percent from the floor and never trailed as they handed the Spurs just their fourth defeat in 20 road games this season.

“They shot it really well, came with their ‘A’ game,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said.

Tim Duncan scored 23 points for San Antonio, but the Spurs couldn’t match Miami’s crisp offensive effort.

Spurs veteran Duncan passed Shaquille O’Neal for sole possession of sixth place on the NBA’s blocked shots list and moved past Allen Iverson for 20th all-time in points. He now has 24,691 points and 2,733 blocks for his career.

Elsewhere, it was: Knicks 110, Lakers 103; Pelicans 100, Magic 92; Suns 99, Cavaliers 90; Nets 85, Celtics 79; Mavericks 116, Pistons 106; Nuggets 125, Kings 117 and Warriors 103, Trail Blazers 88.
