Highlanders survive late scare from Lions

REPLACEMENT back Elton Jantjies missed a conversion kick in the final seconds to hand the Otago Highlanders a tense 23-22 win over South Africa’s Lions in their Super Rugby match in Dunedin yesterday.
Jantjies’ difficult kick from near the touch-line rebounded off the right post to fall to safety and left the visitors heartbroken after they had clawed back from a 0-23 halftime deficit. Elsewhere, it was: Brumbies 16, Sharks 9.
