Jackson helps Bobcats cruise past Heat, 104-65

STEPHEN Jackson scored 24 points, and Gerald Wallace added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats completed a 6-0 homestand with their most lopsided victory in team history, 104-65 over Miami yesterday.

Shutting down a frustrated and foul-plagued Dwyane Wade, the Bobcats improved to an NBA-best nine wins from 10 games since the start of the new year with ease. They shot a franchise-best 82 percent in the first quarter, led by 27 at halftime and by 41 in the fourth quarter in their ninth straight home win.

Wade scored 16 points, but shot 3 for 12 and committed four fouls in the first half while getting outplayed by Jackson. The Heat shot 29 percent.

The 39-point victory topped Charlotte's 35-point rout of Toronto in November for the largest margin of victory in franchise history.

Magic 109, Pacers 98

At Orlando, Florida, Dwight Howard had 32 points and 11 rebounds as Orlando held off Indiana to end a three-game losing streak.

Danny Granger finished with 25 points for the Pacers.

Mavericks 94, Wizards 93

At Washington, Shawn Marion blocked Caron Butler's jump shot with 1.9 seconds to play as Dallas beat Washington.

The Mavericks haven't lost a one-point game since January 2007 to equal the second-longest streak in NBA history with nine. Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points, Jason Terry added 21, and Jason Kidd had 15 assists for the Mavericks, 2-1 on their five-game trip.

Randy Foye led Washington with 26 points.

Hawks 108, Kings 97

At Atlanta, Jamal Crawford scored 20 points as Atlanta bounced back from a sluggish start to hand Sacramento its fifth straight loss and 10th in 11 games.

Tyreke Evans led Sacramento with 24 points.

Trail Blazers 98, 76ers 90

At Philadelphia, former 76ers guard Andre Miller scored 24 points, and Jerryd Bayless had 14 of his 18 in the fourth quarter for Portland.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 points for the Trail Blazers. Portland guard Brandon Roy missed the second half because of a strained right hamstring.

Andre Iguodala led Philadelphia with 23 points.
