James fires Heat past Magic

LeBron James hit a jump shot with 15.1 seconds left to give Miami the lead as the Heat rallied from 16 points down in the second half to beat the visiting Orlando Magic 101-99 on Saturday.

Dwyane Wade scored 27 points in his return to the lineup after missing two games to rest his knees, James added 22 and Chris Bosh had 15 for the National Basketball Association champions Heat, who have won six straight since dropping a decision to Boston on November 9.

Glen Davis, playing for the first time since January 30 because of a broken left foot, scored 20 points for the Magic, who fell to 0-5 on the road. He needed two surgeries to repair the injury.

Arron Afflalo and Victor Oladipo had shots in the final 5 seconds, but neither fell and Miami escaped.

Afflalo scored 18, Oladipo added 17 and E’Twaun Moore had all of his 14 points in the first half for Orlando, which let this one slip away.

James also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out seven assists, as the Heat completed the sweep of the home-and-home series against their cross-state rivals.

Miami dominated Orlando 120-92 last Wednesday.

Stung by that big defeat, the Magic led for much of the night.

An 8-1 scoring run in the fourth quarter gave Miami an 89-88 lead with less than five minutes to play, their first advantage since early in the first quarter.

It was all tied up at 99-99 when James came through with his decisive jumper over Afflalo.

Afflalo had a chance to tie it, but Bosh blocked the shot. Oladipo grabbed the loose ball but was off target and James collected the rebound as time expired.

James scored in double figures for the 508th straight regular-season game, tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the fifth-longest such streak in NBA history. The record for double-digit scoring is 866 consecutive games by Michael Jordan.

Elsewhere, it was: Clippers 103, Kings 102; Pacers 106, 76ers 98; Wizards 98, Knicks 89; Celtics 94, Hawks 87; Rockets 112, Timberwolves 101; Bobcats 96, Bucks 72; Spurs 126, Cavaliers 96; Nuggets 102, Mavericks 100; and Trail Blazers 113, Warriors 101.

Chris Paul scored 22 points for the Clippers, hitting a go-ahead free throw with 2.5 seconds left to help Los Angeles rally from a 20-point first-half deficit to beat Sacramento 103-102.

DeAndre Jordan had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Blake Griffin finished with 16 points and 10 boards for the Clippers.
