James has 38 in homecoming, Heat win 118-90
LEBRON James led a 16-0 first-quarter surge that quieted the boos and abuse of fans who used to call him King, scoring 38 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 118-90 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers yesterday.
It was James' first game back in the city where he played for seven years before leaving via free agency, angering disbelieving fans who considered him one of their own.
Dwyane Wade added 22 points, James Jones 18 and Chris Bosh 15 for the Heat, a star-studded team which has seldom played like one in going 12-8 so far.
Daniel Gibson had 21 for the Cavaliers, who have lost six of eight games and play seven of their next eight on the road.
James had 10 more points than Cleveland's starting lineup.
Suns 107, Warriors 101
At Oakland, California, Jason Richardson scored 25 points against his former team and Grant Hill added 24 to lead Phoenix over Golden State.
Steve Nash added 13 points and matched his season high with 16 assists as the Suns beat Golden State for the ninth time in 11 meetings. Channing Frye had 10 points, matching his career best with a 10th straight double-figure game, and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Monta Ellis scored 38 points for the Warriors, who have lost four straight at home and seven of eight overall. David Lee added 25 points and Dorell Wright had 10 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
