Korver named to replace Wade on East All-Star team
KYLE Korver, the Atlanta Hawks guard on pace for a historic season of shooting accuracy, was named on Tuesday to replace injured Dwyane Wade in Sunday’s 64th National Basketball Association All-Star Game.
Korver was named to the elite squad by NBA commissioner Adam Silver after Wade said earlier on Tuesday that he would not play in the game due to a nagging hamstring injury. His addition to the lineup gives the Hawks a record-matching four All-Stars in the same season, Korver joining guard Jeff Teague and frontliners Al Horford and Paul Millsap. Korver is shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 52.8 percent from 3-point range and 92.0 percent from the free-throw line. No player in NBA history has shot 50 percent from the field and beyond the 3-point arc and 90 percent in free throws.
