LeBron demoralized after Cavaliers鈥 latest setback

LeBron James looked at the evidence after Saturday鈥檚 demoralizing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and came to a devastating conclusion: The Cleveland Cavaliers aren鈥檛 a very good team right now.

The Oklahoma City Thunder steamrolled Cleveland 148-124 on Saturday to drop the Cavaliers to 3-9 since Christmas Day. The 148 points allowed match the most the franchise has ever given up in a regular game.

鈥淚鈥檝e never in my basketball life gave up 148 points, not even probably playing video games,鈥 James said afterward. 鈥淭hey got everything that they wanted. Inside, outside 鈥 they had it moving. ... It鈥檚 just a really bad, really bad loss on our part.鈥

James also isn鈥檛 feeling too good about his team鈥檚 chances of reaching the NBA Finals for a fourth straight season.

鈥淧layoffs? We can鈥檛 even start thinking about that, not the way we鈥檙e playing right now,鈥 James said. 鈥淲e could easily get bounced early in the playoffs if they started next weekend. Haven鈥檛 even began thinking about the postseason.鈥

The recent struggles have sent the rumor mill into high gear regarding the status of coach Tyronn Lue. James has always been in Lue鈥檚 corner and the team鈥檚 ineptitude over the past six games 鈥 losses of 34, 28 and now 24 have occurred during the stretch 鈥 hasn鈥檛 changed his sentiments.

鈥淚 would hope not, but I really don鈥檛 know,鈥 James said of whether Lue鈥檚 job could be in jeopardy. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know what鈥檚 going to happen with our team. I have no idea what conversations have been going on. Me personally, I鈥檝e been trying to stay as laser-sharp as I can to keep my guys ready to go out and play.鈥
