LeBron scores 27 as Heat beat Celtics 100-77
LEBRON James scored 27 points and Dwyane Wade added 14 as the host Miami Heat moved past the Boston Celtics into second place in the NBA's Eastern Conference with a 100-77 victory yesterday.
Miami had been 0-3 against the Celtics this season.
Chris Bosh added 13 points and eight rebounds for Miami, which moved a game ahead of Boston for the No. 2 seed in the East heading into the playoffs.
Paul Pierce scored 24 points and Kevin Garnett added 21 for Boston, which lost for the 10th time in its last 19 games.
Thunder 120, Lakers 106
In Los Angeles, Kevin Durant scored 31 points and Russell Westbrook added 26 as Oklahoma City sent Los Angeles to its fifth straight loss.
James Harden added 16 points and Serge Ibaka had 15 for the Thunder, who moved a game behind the Lakers and Dallas with two games remaining in the race for the No. 2 seed in the West.
It was the Thunder's fourth straight win and their first against the Lakers on the road in five years.
Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, Pau Gasol added 26 and Andrew Bynum had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, who haven't lost this many in a row since 2006-07, when they dropped seven straight.
Bulls 102, Magic 99
In Orlando, Florida, Derrick Rose had 39 points and five assists and Luol Deng added 15 points to help Chicago hold off Orlando.
Orlando's Jameer Nelson appeared to tie it with a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but an official review upheld an initial call of no basket.
Ryan Anderson led the Magic with a career-high 28 points, Jason Richardson added 24 and Nelson had 17.
Chicago won its seventh consecutive game and for the 19th time in 21 games. The Bulls also kept alive their chances of finishing with the NBA's best record, which would give them home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Magic were without center Dwight Howard, who was serving his second suspension of the season after picking up his 18th technical foul.
Grizzlies 111, Hornets 89
In Memphis, Tennessee, O.J. Mayo scored 18 points and Marc Gasol added 16 as Memphis continued its march to the postseason by beating New Orleans.
Hornets All-Star Chris Paul was held scoreless for the first time in his career, missing all six of his field goal attempts two free throws.
Both teams already have clinched spots in the Western Conference playoffs but are now jockeying for seeding position. The victory pulled Memphis even with the Hornets for the seventh spot.
The teams split their season series 2-2, but the Hornets own the tiebreaker.
Marco Belinelli led the Hornets with 18 points.
Knicks 110, Pacers 109
In Indianapolis, Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points, making the go-ahead jumper with 4.9 seconds left and blocking a potential winning attempt, helping New York beat Indiana for its seventh straight win.
Chauncey Billups had 21 points and seven assists, and Toney Douglas scored 14 for the Knicks, who moved a game ahead of idle Philadelphia for the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle.
Danny Granger had 20 points and Roy Hibbert added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana.
Mavericks 115, Suns 90
At Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki had 19 points and Shawn Marion added 18 to lead Dallas over Phoenix, keeping alive hopes of snagging the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

It also was the 42nd loss of the season for the Suns, assuring they would finish with their first losing record since 2003-04, their last season before bringing Steve Nash back from the Mavericks.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Rodney Stuckey scored 24 points and Charlie Villanueva added 20 as Detroit recovered from a terrible start to beat reeling Charlotte.
Chris Wilcox chipped in with 14 points for the Pistons, who won their third straight game.
Gerald Henderson scored 21 points, Boris Diaw added 20 and Kwame Brown had 19 points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, who have dropped six straight.
Raptors 99, Nets 92
In Toronto, Jerryd Bayless scored 19 points and James Johnson had a season-high 18 to help Toronto beat New Jersey and end a three-game losing streak.
DeMar DeRozan and Ed Davis both scored 18 points and Julian Wright had 10 for the Raptors, who had to hold on after leading by as many as 21.
Brook Lopez had 35 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets, who have lost three straight and nine of 11.
