NBA to probe Rockets-Clippers clash

The NBA is planning to speak with players from both the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers to determine the specifics of late-game and postgame events involving the teams.
Tempers boiled over on Monday night late in the Clippers鈥 113-102 victory, to the point where several security guards were needed outside the Houston locker room postgame. Citing anonymous NBA sources, ESPN reported several Rockets players headed toward the Clippers鈥 locker room afterward, seeking a confrontation, but were escorted away by security before anything got physical.
There were late-game incidents as well in Chris Paul鈥檚 first game in Los Angeles since he was traded to the Rockets this past summer. Clippers star Blake Griffin appeared to bump Houston coach Mike D鈥橝ntoni, and they exchanged words. Griffin and Houston鈥檚 Trevor Ariza were later ejected.
Asked about it, Clippers coach Doc Rivers would only say his team was in its own locker room. 鈥淭heir entire team was not in their locker room,鈥 he said, referring to the Rockets.
The final minutes of the game were filled with technical fouls, ejections, swearing, and bumping.
Lou Williams scored 31 points, Blake Griffin added 29 before his ejection.
Paul had 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists for the Rockets, whose three-game winning streak ended.
鈥淚t鈥檚 always like that when you lose, especially when you鈥檙e playing against a former team, all the emotions that go into it, familiar faces and stuff like that,鈥 Paul said. 鈥淔or us, we鈥檝e got to be better. Give them the credit, they won the game.鈥
Things got testy with 3 minutes to go. Griffin scored under the basket and Paul was called for a foul. Paul ran over to the referees in disbelief. On his way back up court, Griffin went out of bounds and bumped Rockets coach Mike D鈥橝ntoni, who became irate and cursed in Griffin鈥檚 direction.
