Nuggets' win streak hits 15

THE Denver Nuggets stretched their National Basketball Association winning streak to 15 games on Saturday with a 101-95 home victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 19 points and eight rebounds as Denver matched its club record winning streak.

The Nuggets haven't won 15 straight since the 1969-1970 season, and managed to match the feat despite the absence of starting guard Ty Lawson.

Lawson missed a second straight game with a bruised heel, while Wilson Chandler was also sidelined with a shoulder injury.

"We have a different personality without Wilson and Ty," Nuggets coach George Karl said.

"We haven't found a comfort zone or a flow without them, especially offensively."

Elsewhere in the NBA on Saturday, it was: Pistons 92, Bobcats 91; Knicks 110, Raptors 84; Bulls 87, Pacers 84; Grizzlies 110, Celtics 106; Warriors 101, Wizards 92; and Clippers 101, Nets 95.

In Denver, Kenneth Faried contributed 17 points and nine rebounds, Andre Iguodala added 15 points with eight assists and the Nuggets had 11 points apiece from Andre Miller and JaVale McGee.

The Kings' brief two-game winning streak was snapped. DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 24 points with 15 rebounds for Sacramento, while John Salmons had 18 points in the defeat.

Salmons drained a three-pointer with 16 seconds remaining to pull Sacramento within four points at 99-95, but Miller made two free throws to rebuild Denver's lead.

"Miller was Miller in Miller time," Sacramento coach Keith Smart said. "He made plays down the stretch."

The Kings took the Heat to double overtime in Miami on February 26 before losing. It was Miami's 11th win in a streak that has grown to 25.

"We have been in this situation. We were in a game against Miami and like that game we couldn't finish," Salmons said. "They heard us banging."

The Nuggets have already clinched a playoff berth for the 10th straight season.
