Pacers Dunleavy out for season after knee surgery

INDIANA Pacers guard Mike Dunleavy will miss the rest of the season after having knee surgery, the team said on its website (www.nba.com/pacers) yesterday.

Dunleavy had appeared in just 18 games for the Pacers this season averaging 15.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.

The Pacers said surgery to remove bone spur and repair his right patellar tendon was successful but there was no timetable for Dunleavy's return.

Taken with the third overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2002 NBA draft, Dunleavy has averaged 12.5 points and 4.8 rebounds a game over seven seasons.
