Pacers top Nets, now 7-0

The Indiana Pacers stretched their National Basketball Association season-opening win streak to a franchise-best 7-0 on Saturday with a 96-91 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Pacers forward Paul George led all scorers with 24 points as Indiana handed Brooklyn its first home loss of the season.

David West added 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson finished with 15 points apiece for the Pacers.

The franchise’s previous best start to a season was a 6-0 opening in 1970-71, when they were in the old American Basketball Association.

Deron Williams had 17 points and 10 assists and Joe Johnson added 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting for the Nets.

Elsewhere, it was: Raptors 115, Jazz 91; Cavaliers 127, 76ers 125 (in second overtime); Celtics 111, Heat 110; Hawks 104, Magic 94; Clippers 107, Rockets 94; Grizzlies 108, Warriors 90; Mavericks 91, Bucks 83; and Trail Blazers 96, Kings 85.
