Raptors get Johnson from Bulls for draft pick

THE Toronto Raptors acquired forward James Johnson from the Chicago Bulls yesterday for a 2011 first-round draft pick.

The pick sent to Chicago was acquired by Toronto last year from the Miami Heat in the Chris Bosh sign-and-trade deal.

"James Johnson is a strong, athletic and versatile small forward that we have had our eye on dating back to the 2009 NBA draft," Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo in a statement.

Taken with the 16th overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Bulls, Johnson has appeared in 78 games this season averaging 3.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 11.3 minutes.

He posted a career-best 20 points in a career-high 43 minutes against the Heat on March 12, 2010.
