Rose scores 26 to lead Bulls past Knicks

DERRICK Rose scored 26 points to lead the Chicago Bulls over the host New York Knicks 103-90 yesterday, keeping the Bulls in the race for the NBA's best record.

Chicago, already assured the best record in the Eastern Conference, has a 61-20 record, while San Antonio is at 61-19. The tiebreakers are all even, so a random drawing would be held if both teams finish with the same record.

San Antonio faced the Los Angeles Lakers later yesterday.

Carlos Boozer had 14 points and 22 boards for the Bulls, who won their eighth straight game.

Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points for the Knicks, who had their seven-game winning streak stopped.

Locked into the No. 6 seed and a first-round matchup with Boston, New York rested Amare Stoudemire for the third straight game, though his sprained left ankle was well enough to play.
