Saunders is T’wolves coach

FLIP Saunders, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ president of basketball operations, was on Friday named the new coach of the NBA team, which has not reached the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons. Saunders served as coach of the Timberwolves for parts of 10 campaigns from 1995-2005, overseeing the team’s most successful span, which included a run to the 2004 Western Conference finals.
