Stoudemire is 鈥榝ree鈥

AMARE Stoudemire reached a buyout deal on Monday with the worst team in the National Basketball Association, the New York Knicks, making himself a free agent who could have a major impact for a team in playoff contention. Stoudemire was in the final season of a five-year deal worth nearly US$100 million that he signed in 2010 before being released by the Knicks, already ensured of a losing season at 10-43. The 32-year-old forward averaged 17.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in 255 games with the Knicks.
