Suns sign double MVP Nash to two-year extension
TWICE NBA MVP Steve Nash has been signed by the Phoenix Suns to a two-year contract extension through the 2011-12 season, the club said yesterday.
The 35-year-old point guard has averaged 14.4 points and eight assists over his 13-year NBA career.
"Steve is still one of the best point guards in the NBA, and his dedication to conditioning will keep him among the league's elite for several more seasons," Suns' general manager Steve Kerr said in a statement.
"In many ways he embodies what our franchise is all about, and we're thrilled that he will be the leader of our team for the next three years."
Nash is one of only nine players in the NBA to win back-to-back NBA MVP awards (2005, 2006) and is a six-times All-Star.
