T-Mac hits out at 'unfair' CBA

FORMER National Basketball Association All Star Tracy McGrady has expressed his disenchantment with the Chinese Basketball Association league.

"I think all teams should be treated fairly and this is how they should run their league," said the 33-year-old guard, who formerly played for the Houston Rockets alongside China's Yao Ming.

"Fans paid to see the players, so it should let the players indeed take the outcome and let the better team win."

McGrady, known as T-Mac, finished his first CBA season with the Qingdao Eagles who lost their last regular season match away to league leader Guangzhou last Sunday to finish last in the table.

Reviewing his four-month CBA journey, he said the only thing that made him uncomfortable was the secrets which go on in the CBA. "Fairness is the major issue on which the CBA should improve, and it's beneficial for players."

McGrady warned those NBA-to-CBA "gold-diggers" that rules could be different across the ocean. "If any NBA player wants to come to the CBA, he should be a team player, a leader and a teacher."

McGrady will miss this Sunday's CBA All-Star game as he will be home in the US with his grandmother who is ailing.
