Woeful Sharks flop again to make it 3-straight losses

THE Shanghai Sharks extended their run of losses, beaten 92-106 at home by Jiangsu Dragons yesterday, and nearing the basement of the CBA table.

The Sharks, after three straight losses, are now 2-6 since the start of the season.

Jiangsu's two American players, Mike Harris and Garret Siler, scored 54 points together, helping the team to maintain the advantage, while the Sharks captain Liu Wei notched 25 points and D.J. White 26.

Harris, who played for Shanghai last season, finished with a game-high 33 points and nine rebounds. Center Siler added 12 rebounds, crushing Shanghai's painted area. Ryan Kelly, who signed for Shanghai last Saturday to replace the injured Gilbert Arenas, managed only 11 points.

Shanghai's Yuanshen Stadium was less than half full as the Sharks' run of losses and Arenas' continued absence cooled fans' interest in the team.

This is in sharp contrast to the December 2 game at home when Shanghai faced off against Tracy McGrady-led Qingdao Doublestar with the 5,000-seater stadium nearly all sold out.
