Valuev to defend title against Chagaev

WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev will defend his title against the only man to beat him, Ruslan Chagaev of Uzbekistan, his promoters said yesterday.
Sauerland Event general manager Chris Meyer said in a statement: "We intend to stage the bout on May 30. We have targeted Helsinki, Finland, as the location but will announce further details in the next (few) days."
The 2.13-metre Russian (50-1) lost the belt on a majority points decision to Chagaev (25-0-1) two years ago but the Uzbeki had to give up the title because of an Achilles injury allowing Valuev to reclaim with victory over American John Ruiz.
