SHINSUKE Yamanaka of Japan knocked out Mexico's Tomas Rojas to defend his WBC bantamweight title in Sendai, Japan, yesterday. Yamanaka sent the challenger to the canvas with a left 36 seconds into the seventh round. Yamanaka, in his second defense of the title he won in April, improved to 17 wins, 12 by knockout, and two draws. Rojas fell to 39 wins against 13 losses and one draw.
