5 India players carried injuries
INDIA'S cricket board has played down a report from its physiotherapist that five players carried injuries into the Twenty20 World Cup, saying they did not have serious problems.
Press Trust of India said team physiotherapist Nitin Patel's report informed the board that skipper Mahendra Dhoni and his deputy Virender Sehwag were among the T20 squad players who needed treatment. Patel also cast doubt upon the fitness of Yuvraj Singh, Rudra Pratap Singh and Zaheer Khan. "It's a routine report that's given before every tour to assess the fitness of the players," said Rajiv Shukla, chairman of the BCCI's media and finance committee. "Too much importance should not be attached to the report."
