Bradman’s blazer

A BLAZER worn by cricketing great Don Bradman during his first series as Australia captain sold at auction yesterday for Australian dollars 100,000 (US$70,000). The green woollen blazer with gold piping and the Australian coat of arms on its breast pocket was worn by Bradman during the 1936-1937 test series against England, which Australia won 3-2. Bidding opened at A$50,000 and there were two active bidders, one in the room and one on the phone. The blazer went to the bidder in the room who will pay a total of A$132,000 when sales tax and the buyer’s premium is added.
