Broad Fined For Throwing Ball At Batsman
ENGLAND fast bowler Stuart Broad has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for throwing a ball "in a dangerous manner" toward Pakistan batsman Zulqarnain Haider on the third day of the Edgbaston test on Sunday.
Umpires Steve Davis and Marais Erasmus reported Broad for breaching the International Cricket Council's code of conduct for an incident after the 63rd over, when the English bowler threw the ball back toward the facing batsman and appeared to hit him on the shoulder.
Broad pleaded guilty and match referee Ranjan Madugalle imposed a fine equivalent to 50 percent of the player's match fee, the ICC said.
