Former greats to attend city tournament
SHANGHAI will host the 11th Shanghai Cricket Sixes this weekend with former players from Australia and New Zealand flying in to play and promote the game in China.
Former greats Terry Alderman (Australia), Danny Morrison (New Zealand), Rodney Hogg (Australia) and Mike Whitney (Australia) have been lined up for the event.
This year the Sixes tournament consists of three competitions, the men's Sixes Cup, the International Women's T20 Cup and the Youth Development Cup.
The increase in attending teams reflects the growth of the game in China, where the Cricket Shanghai League has seen a 50 percent increase in members in the past year, organizers said.
The tournament will be played at the Shanghai Rugby Football Club ground in Pudong.
