Parore on summit

FORMER New Zealand test cricketer Adam Parore has climbed Mount Everest. The 40-year-old Parore, who played 78 tests and 179 one-day internationals as a wicketkeeper-batsman, reached the summit of the world's tallest mountain on Saturday, succeeding in his second attempt. Parore told New Zealand media he ran out of oxygen and spent only 20 to 30 minutes on the summit. He said, "I took a few photos but I wanted to come back. It is very exposed and a long way down."
