Warne fined
AUSTRALIAN cricketer Shane Warne has been fined US$50,000 for publicly criticizing an official, the Indian Premier League said yesterday. A two-member commission heard Rajasthan Cricket Association's complaint that Warne had publicly insulted its secretary Sanjay Dixit after an IPL match. Rajasthan Royals skipper Warne, who will quit professional cricket after the current IPL season, was reportedly upset about a change of playing surface during the match and held Dixit responsible for it. The flamboyant leg-spinner subsequently apologized to Dixit, the IPL said.
