Windies win first Bangladesh test
TINO Best picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in test cricket as West Indies fought back to beat Bangladesh by 77 runs in the first test in Dhaka yesterday.
The host caved in under pressure and was all out for 167 runs in its second innings, having been set a target of 245 runs in a maximum of 78 overs to win. Best provided the killer blows to finish with a career-best 5-24 as Bangladesh lost the test despite scoring more than 550 runs in its first innings. Bangladesh, which scored 556 in its first innings replying to West Indies' 527-4 declared, had the upper hand when a six-wicket haul by debutante offspinner Sohag Gazi helped it dismiss the visitors for 273 in the second innings.
