5th leg of series concludes

THE fifth leg of the 2017 Skoda Heros China Cycling Series was held in Shibei Hi-Tech Park in Nantong, neighboring Jiangsu Province, over the weekend. Jointly organized by the Shanghai Sports Bureau, the Shanghai Sports Federation and the Nantong Sports Bureau, the event featured 510 cyclists from home and abroad representing 40 teams in competitions ranging from elite group, U35, U25, women’s group, and high school group, as well as a 5.2-kilometer individual time trial. The high school group saw fierce competition between Shanghai cyclist Zhu Hong and Zhejiang’s Chen Xingming, who bumped into each other during the sprint stage. Chen eventually finished the 31.2-km route first clocking 43 minutes and 55.059 seconds. This year’s series has nine legs with three of them scheduled in Shanghai.
