Next month’s Blue Bay LPGA event in south China’s island province of Hainan will not take place. The LPGA said yesterday the plan is to return to China for the same event in 2022. The event was not held last season amid the pandemic in late January 2020, when the LPGA decided not to play tour events overseas. “Given the current health concerns and significant travel restrictions put in place due to COVID-19, the 2021 Blue Bay LPGA, originally scheduled for May 13-16, is canceled,” the LPGA said in a statement.
