Feng, Choi share halfway lead at Buick Challenge

THE big guns moved to the top of the leaderboard at the Buick Challenge yesterday as defending champion and world No. 10 Feng Shanshan of China shot a 6-under 66 to draw even with Korean star Choi Na-yeon (68) at 7-under 137 through two rounds.

US LPGA Tour regular Lin Xiyu (67) of China was one shot off the lead, tied with American Beth Allen (69) at the US$600,000 tournament being played at Shanghai Qizhong Garden Golf Club. The tournament is co-sponsored by the China LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. Chinese amateur Ji Yifan continued to impress as the 15-year-old shot a 70 to sit equal fifth, at two shots off the pace, tied with England’s Florentyna Parker (67) and overnight co-leader Becky Morgan (71) of Wales.
