Han retains junior crown as Ji captures girls title

The 2015 HSBC China Junior Champions final was held at Shanghai Link Golf and Country Club in Pudong New Area over the weekend.

After previous legs played in Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Beijing and Shanghai, the finals featured 115 young golfers from all over China who were divided into 10 groups.

After three days of competition, 16-year-old Han Yuting, from Liaoning Province, defended his title in the boy’s Group A final, while the girl’s Group A crown went to 15-year-old Ji Yifan from Henan Province.

Together with boy’s Group B champion Xie Qiantong, girl’s Group B champion Shi Yuli, boy’s Group C champion Xiong Ruiheng and girl’s Group C champion Chen Yulin, the six young golfers will receive two weeks of training at the US-based IMG training camp before taking part in the IMG Junior World Championship Challenger in Florida.

Runners-up in Group B and Group C of both genders have also clinched a spot in this year’s Pro-Am competition at the 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions, which will be held at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai from November 5 to 8.
