CHINA'S Huang Ping shot a conservative round of one-over 73 to take the second-round lead at the US$50,000 Orient Beijing Pearl Championship yesterday, one shot ahead of compatriots Yang Hongmei (73) and Gao Shuang (75) and Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Yu-ling (71). With the conditions hot and sunny at the Orient (Beijing) Pearl Golf Country Club, the 28-year-old Huang, winner of the 2009 Shanghai Masters, carded a round that included two birdies against three bogeys for an aggregate 36-hole score of one-under 143.
