Japan's Ishikawa Heeds Jumbo's Tiger Alert

RECORD-BREAKING teenager Ryo Ishikawa has been warned to "be careful" of women by his Japan's former No. 1 golfer Jumbo Ozaki.

Ozaki offered his advice to the Japanese order of merit winner in reference to the scandal that has engulfed world No. 1 Tiger Woods, who is taking an indefinite break from the game after admitting to infidelity in his marriage.

The 18-year-old Ishikawa was being interviewed by Ozaki following a practice round before a domestic tournament this week.

"I have only one thing I want to say and that is be careful over women," Ozaki was quoted as saying in Japan's Sankei Sports. "If you have any problems, call Tiger."

Ishikawa gave a polite nod in response.

"(Former top Japanese player) Mr (Tsuneyuki) Nakajima told me the same thing," Ishikawa replied with a sheepish grin.

Ishikawa became the youngest player to win a tournament on the Japanese men's tour as a 15-year-old in 2007 and the youngest to win the money rankings title this season and has lucrative sponsorship deals making him a multi-millionaire.
