Lin takes five-shot lead in Ningbo
A RED-HOT Lin Tzu-chi scorched the field at the Ningbo Challenge yesterday, firing a 7-under-par 65 to open up a five-shot lead through two rounds of the China LPGA Tour event.
The 22-year-old from Taiwan carded eight birdies against a lone bogey for a 36-hole score of 11-under 133 in Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province. Chinese veteran Yang Taoli was a distant second following a 68, while 17-year-old amateur Liu Yu was two shots further back after a second straight 70. The fifth year of the China LPGA Tour features 10-plus events culminating in the Hyundai China Ladies Open this December in Xiamen, southwestern Fujian Province.
