D.A. Points shot an 8-under 64 to open a one-shot lead over Cameron Tringale and John Rollins after the first round of the Houston Open. Points needs to win to qualify for the US Masters. Angel Cabrera, a two-time major champion who lives in Houston, was in the group at 66. Lee Westwood hit two shots in the water and still salvaged a 68 and was in a group that included Riviera winner John Merrick and Jimmy Walker.
