Victory puts Watson 4th in rankings
BUBBA Watson’s one-stroke win on Sunday at the Northern Trust Open in California has allowed him to rise to fourth in the world rankings, moving ahead of fellow American Rickie Fowler.
The top three places remain the same despite American No. 1 Jordan Spieth missing the cut at Riviera and No. 3 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland misfiring in the final round, where he shot a 4-over-par 75. Australian Jason Day retains his No. 2 spot.
The biggest mover in the top 20 was Australian Adam Scott who climbs six places to 13th following his tied second-place finish at the Northern Trust Open in Pacific Palisades alongside American Jason Kokrak.
