Webb battles back to win Ladies European Masters in England
Hall of Famer Karrie Webb rallied to win the Ladies European Masters on Sunday, making two eagles in a 7-under 65 for a one-stroke victory.
The 38-year-old Australian had a 16-under 200 total at Buckinghamshire in Denham, England. She has three victories this season, also winning the Australian Ladies Masters in February and the LPGA Tour’s ShopRite LPGA Classic in June.
“I came over here to get some tournament rounds under my belt, get some confidence going, get into the time zone and British conditions,” Webb said. “To win is just the icing on the cake. I’m very happy with how I played this week and I got more and more confident on the course as the week went on.”
Webb eagled the par-5 ninth and 14th holes. South Africa’s Ashleigh Simon closed with a 69.
