Wu, Pan seal berths for British Open

CHINA’S Wu Ashun will savor the prospect of making his second appearance at the British Open after he successfully earned one of the four tickets with a second-round 4-under-par 68 at the Open Qualifying Series-Thailand yesterday.
Japan’s Hiroshi Iwata (71), the overnight leader, topped the 36-hole qualifying event with a two-day total of 5-under 139. Chinese Taipei amateur Pan Cheng-tsung and Japan’s Tsukada Yoshinobu also qualified for the Open which will be held at Hoylake from July 17-20.
