Zhang takes slim lead at Buick Invitational

ZHANG Yuyang opened up a one-shot lead through two rounds of the Buick Ladies Invitational yesterday when the overnight co-leader carded a 2-under 70 in the third tournament of the China LPGA Tour season.
The Chinese star was 3-under 139 through 36 holes in Shanghai, one stroke ahead of South Korean Chung Ye-na who shot a 68. South Korea’s Jang So-young (71) was alone in third, three shots back, while Ye Lei (70), a 12-year-old from China, was the top amateur a shot further back in a group that included compatriot Pan Yanhong, the overnight co-leader who ballooned to a 74.
