Bruins fly to 2-0 lead after Krejci's OT winner

DAVID Krejci scored an overtime goal to seal a 3-2 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia on Monday and carry the Boston Bruins to a 2-0 lead in their National Hockey League second-round playoff series.
The Bruins' celebrations were delayed momentarily as officials reviewed the replay of Krejci's snap shot, which ricocheted out of the net exactly 14 minutes into OT, before the goal was awarded.
"At first I thought it was in, but then everyone kept playing so I made sure to keep playing until the whistle," Krejci told reporters. "We had a strong game the first two periods and in the third they came out hard. We had to get it going."
With the triumph, the Bruins are in a familiar commanding position but the team may not feel overly confident of wrapping up the series quickly.
Boston squandered a 3-0 lead to the Flyers in last season's playoffs and lost the series in a heartbreaking seventh game.
The Bruins, which thrashed Philadelphia 7-3 in Game 1 on Saturday, head home for Game 3 tomorrow following a stellar performance from goaltender Tim Thomas who made 52 saves to keep Boston afloat.
Philadelphia jumped out to a 2-0 lead as James van Riemsdyk scored twice in an action-packed first period featuring 30 shots, but goals to Boston's Chris Kelly and Brad Marchand leveled the scores going into the second period.
The Flyers, who have rotated their goaltenders with mixed results in the playoffs, had 32 saves from Brian Boucher who appeared to injure his hand when stopping a shot in the second. Boucher was replaced midway through the second by Sergei Bobrovsky before returning at the start of the third.
