Canucks brush aside Kings to stretch streak

THE Vancouver Canucks claimed their third win in four when they brushed aside the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on Thursday.

Third period scores from Henrik Sedin, Tanner Glass and Kyle Wellwood made the difference as The Canucks (13-11-0) improved to 9-3-0 at home.

Sedin's goal broke a 1-1 tie at 3:54 in final period after he won a critical face-off.

"Face-offs are something we've been working at every day," Sedin told reporters after netting his eighth goal in his last nine games.

"It's a big part of the game -- to start with the puck -- so it's huge for us."

Roberto Luongo waded in with 31 saves for the home side, including a stunning, reaching stop on a Teddy Purcell shot early in the second period.

"I made the first move and was out of position but sometimes even when you are out of position you got to try to put an arm or a leg out there and fortunately that time it went in my glove," Luongo said.

Earlier, Alexandre Burrows put the Canucks up in the first after an assist from Daniel Sedin, who was playing in his second game back after recovering from a broken foot.
