Crosby leads Pens past Leafs
SIDNEY Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins feel right at home on the road this season.
Crosby and James Neal scored shootout goals, and the Penguins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 on Saturday night for their NHL-leading 11th road win.
Neal opened the shootout with a goal against James Reimer before Crosby sealed the win after Marc-Andre Fleury stopped Toronto's Tyler Bozak and Nazem Kadri.
Phil Kessel forced overtime for the Maple Leafs with his seventh of the season at 15:40 of the third.
Neal, Crosby, Beau Bennett and Pascal Dupuis scored in regulation for Pittsburgh (17-8-0), which outshot Toronto 41-26. Crosby scored in his first game in Toronto in over three years to extend his point streak to a season-high seven games (five goals, 10 assists).
"It's a fun building, a fun atmosphere. We didn't want to let them get back into the game ... but they pushed hard and kept coming," said Crosby, who leads the NHL in points with 40. "I feel good, I feel comfortable the timing is there."
James van Riemsdyk, Cody Franson and Clarke MacArthur had the other goals for Toronto (15-10-1). Dion Phaneuf added three assists.
Elswhere, Boston scored a 3-0 win over Philadelphia and Montreal remained top in the East with a 4-3 comeback win over Tampa Bay
In other games, it was: Hurricanes 6, Devils 3; St Louis 4, Sharks 3 (OT); Coyotes 2, Stars 1; Wild 2, Predators 1 (SO); Blue Jackets 3, Red Wings 0; Kings 6, Flames 2; and Islanders 5, Capitals 2.
