Flyers freeze out Penguins again
Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux grabbed a hat-trick apiece as the Philadelphia Flyers stunned the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second game in a row on Friday, while the Los Angeles Kings pulled off another playoff shocker at the Vancouver Canucks, 4-2.
The busy Giroux added three assists to his tally with rookie Couturier also grabbing one for the Flyers, who came back from a 1-3 first-period deficit to win 8-5 and take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference series. Elsewhere, the New Jersey Nets spoiled the Florida Panthers' return to the National Hockey League postseason with a 3-2 victory and the Detroit Red Wings evened their series with the Nashville Predators by winning by the same 3-2 scoreline in Game 2.
