No Kane rape charge

Patrick Kane, star of the National Hockey League鈥檚 Chicago Blackhawks, will not face rape charges related to an August incident in New York state involving a woman he met at a nightclub, Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita said yesterday. 鈥淭he totality of the credible evidence 鈥 the proof 鈥 does not sufficiently substantiate the complainant鈥檚 allegation,鈥 Sedita said in a statement. Kane, 26, a three-time Stanley Cup champion with Chicago, had been accused of raping a woman in his offseason home in the Buffalo suburb of Hamburg early on August 2.
