Penguins add Leopold in deal with Panthers

THE Florida Panthers have traded Jordan?Leopold to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second round pick in 2010.

Leopold had?seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 61 games with Florida this season. He was minus-7 with 22 penalty minutes.

In his NHL career, Leopold has 36 goals, 91 assists and 127 points in 416 games. His career plus/minus rating is -22, and he has logged 184 total penalty minutes.

Leopold has played 46 career NHL playoff games, counting no goals and 15 assists with a +9 rating and 18 penalty minutes. He was a member of the Flames squad that reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2004.? He notched 10 assists and had a +5 rating?in 26 games during that playoff run.

Meanwhile, the disappointing Edmonton Oilers traded defenseman Denis?Grebeshkov to the Nashville Predators for a second round draft pick in 2010.

The 26-year old has appeared in 47 games this season, recording six goals and 13 assists.?

In 223 career NHL games, Grebeshkov has 16 goals and 66 assists.

Grebeshkov is earning US$3.15 million this season. He will become a restricted free agent on July 1.

There are rumors the Grebeshkov deal could pave the way for Nashville to trade Dan?Hamhuis.
