Rangers, Hawks soar
THE New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks both advanced to the final four of the National Hockey League playoffs with dramatic road wins on Tuesday.
New York completed a comeback from a 1-3 series deficit by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in Game 7, booking a place in the Eastern Conference finals. Defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago won 2-1 in overtime at the Minnesota Wild to win that series 4-2.
The Rangers will play the winner of today’s Game 7 in Boston between the Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, while Chicago will meet either Anaheim or Los Angeles Kings, with the Ducks leading that series 3-2.
