Rangers roll on with Sens win

MARIAN Gaborik scored twice, and Derek Stepan had a goal and two assists as the New York Rangers extended their winning streak to five games with a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 shots for New York (8-3-3), which hit the road for the first time since a 4-1-1 homestand. The Rangers haven't lost since Oct.ober29 when Ottawa rallied from three goals down in the third period and won 5-4 in a shootout.
Gaborik, who extended his point streak to four games, and Stepan scored 2:17 apart to put the Rangers up 2-1 midway through the second period. Stepan assisted on both of Gaborik's goals.
Nick Foligno drew Ottawa within one 1:18 later, but the Senators' comeback attempt fell short. Milan Michalek scored his 10th goal and Craig Anderson made 16 saves for Ottawa, which lost its fourth in a row.
Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson missed his fifth straight game because of a concussion.
In Tampa, Florida, Brett Connolly scored 2:30 into overtime to give Tampa Bay a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia. Connolly won it after Dominic Moore skated into the Flyers' zone and got the puck past a Philadelphia defender into the low slot, from where Connolly beat goalie Ilya Bryzgalov.
Tying goal
Marc-Andre Bergeron netted the tying goal in the third period for the Lightning, who have won seven of nine.
Scott Hartnell had the lone goal for the Flyers. Philadelphia routed Columbus 9-2 on Saturday but was shut down by Tampa Bay, which outshot the Flyers 24-15.
Philadelphia defenseman Chris Pronger returned after missing six games because of a right eye injury. He had been out since being struck just outside the eye by a stick blade during a game against Toronto on October 24.
In Anaheim, California, rookie Craig Smith had two goals and an assist, and Martin Erat scored from a second-period penalty shot as Nashville wrapped up a five-game trip with a 4-2 victory over struggling Anaheim.
Colin Wilson had a goal and an assist, and Pekka Rinne made 31 saves in the Predators' fifth win in seven games. Nashville has beaten Anaheim twice this season in rematches of the clubs' first-round playoff series last spring, won in six games by the Predators.
Devante Smith-Pelly got his first NHL goal and Francois Beauchemin scored for the road-weary Ducks who have lost six straight games and nine of 10.
